Week 4: February 2- February 8
This week was more of a relaxed week due to the weather. I mostly stayed on-campus and spent time with exchangers and meeting locals. However on Tuesday, I went all out and spent the entire day exploring.
Bugis -> Haji Lane -> Kampong Glam -> Lucky Plaza -> Orchard
Above is the destinations I went to. All these areas are in central southern part of Singapore. Bugis and Haji Lane is more of a "hipster" place with art painted on buildings, cute shops, thrift stores, and photo booths. It is a really nice place to go with friends while being dressed in your best fits. Orchard is another notable area. Orchard or Orchard Road is a street lined with malls. There are at least three malls (I lost count) such as ION Orchard, Orchard Central, Ngee Ann City all interconnected underground. You can honestly travel from one end of the street to the other side just walking through the basement level. It is THE shopping street. I believe there are three UNIQLOs just in that area.
February 6 was also my birthday! I treated myself to a solo day and visited a cat cafe called Wildflower Studio. It is an art jamming x cat cafe where you can paint with the company of cats. I was the only one there since it was a weekday and I ended up just playing with all the cats instead of painting. So worth it. Highly recommend going to a cat cafe alone on a weekday so you can hog all the cats ;)
